Tourism market
Bass Coast and Phillip Island is one of Australia's major tourism regions.
It's not just the perfect base for summer activities, but an ideal base for winter fun, with the Victorian snowfields within easy reach.
The Bass Coast is home to close to 30,000 permanent residents, but this number swells to close to 100,000 during holiday periods, summer weekends and major events. Bass Coast plays host to some 35% of Victoria's international tourists.
Visitors are attracted by such renowned experiences as the world famous Penguin Parade, and the Motorcycle Grand Prix and Superbike Championships.
