Welcome to the Destination Gippsland industry website.
Destination Gippsland Inc (DGI) has been operating as an incorporated association since December 2004 with members drawn from the tourism industry and local government. The Gippsland region incorporates the local government areas of Bass Coast (excluding Phillip Island), Baw Baw, East Gippsland, Latrobe, South Gippsland and Wellington. The Committee was administered through a partnership approach between Tourism Victoria and Destination Gippsland via the Regional Marketing Program (RMP). |

There is a wide variety of accommodation options to suit all tastes and budgets throughout the Shire. We have accommodation listed for sea side locations - Phillip Island, Inverloch, Cape Paterson, Kilcunda etc. - and hinterlland townships - Wonthaggi, Grantville, The Gurdies etc.
The online booking search facility also allows you to search for the type of accommodation that will best suit your individual requirements. The search options also includes 'pet friendly' and 'easy access' accommodation. Please tick your prefered options under Facilities.

| Tourism Economic Impact Study 2005 |
The Tourism Economic Impact Study Report includes the following information:
• A survey of visitors to the Shire identifying visitor expenditure, influence of visit, length of stay, activities undertaken and visitor satisfaction;
• A survey of accommodation providers, identifying room nights, guest nights, takings and employment;
• A survey of holiday home owners, identifying reasons for purchasing the holiday home, period of ownership, number of visits, number of days the holiday home was used and activities undertaken;
• A survey of tourism businesses and businesses likely to benefit from tourism identifying: type of business, persons employed, capital investment and income trends.
